Clinic for Orthopaedics and Accident Surgery: Hip Department

Dear visitor,

the orthopaedic specialists of the Clinic for Orthopaedics and Accident Surgery at the Waldkrankenhaus Eisenberg treat over a thousand people per year with hip disorders such as hip joint arthrosis, arthrosis of the femoral head or hip dysplasia. In addition, we treat patients with fractures after accidents or sports injuries. Our patients benefit from this varied, comprehensive experience every day around the clock.

We offer the complete range of diagnostics here: in addition to standards such as X-ray, ultrasound, MRI examinations and bone density measurements, we also have a gate analysis laboratory. Here, in the case of specific questions, we can precisely record the movement patterns of our patients and thus both refine the diagnosis and assess the result of the therapy.

Artificial hip joint replacement is one of the specialities of our clinic: We perform over one thousand total endoprosthetic operations per year including revisions on the hip. If required, for complicated operations, the surgeons have had access for several years to a computer-aided navigation system for precise implantation of the prosthetic. In this case, the operation is also planned on the X-ray image with the aid of a computer. The operation is thus perfectly adapted to the individual anatomy of the patient.
