Shoulder endoprosthetics

The artificial replacement of the shoulder joint is now one of the established procedures of orthopaedic surgery: as an orthopaedic university clinic at the Waldkrankenhaus Eisenberg, we have very comprehensive experience of shoulder endoprosthetics.

Patients often suffer from an arthrosis (wear symptoms) of the shoulder joint at an advanced stage. The causes of this are varied, e.g. a rheumatic disorder, previous injuries of the rotator cuff, instabilities or upper arm fractures. If operations to preserve the joint do not promise success, an artificial shoulder joint may restore mobility and freedom from pain.

Before a patient decides to have this operation, our orthopaedic surgeons provide him or her with expert information on the various prosthetic types: At the Waldkrankenhaus Eisenberg, we have a comprehensive range – and thus can find the ideal artificial shoulder joint for the individual anatomy of the patient.

Our long-term experience with artificial shoulder joints is very good: depending on the causal disorder, many of our patients are free from pain and can move the arm again.

An artificial joint can restore mobility - the orthopaedic surgeons at the Waldkrankenhaus Eisenberg have wide-ranging experience in order to find the ideal artificial shoulder joint for the anatomy of the patient.
